a busted toe and soccer
well, those two things have nothing in common. the busted toe belongs to sarah and ian's last game of soccer was today. but first... we've been dehydrating like crazy!!! dean and i want to be a little healthier and we thought that dehydrating fruits and veggies (and jerky) would be the best way to go about that for us. so far, we've only done apples, bananas and jalapenos. and a wierd banana/peanut butter mixture. the first three turned out splendidly. but it seems like all that work doesn't look like much. they shrivel up so tiny, like you didn't fill the trays. but i did. anyhow, we're really excited about it.
well, today was ian's last soccer match. and as much as i would like to say it was the culmination of excellence, it was really a tired, boring match. but to give the boys credit, it was their third game in less than 24 hours. last night, they got to play at 7:15 under the lights. it was pretty neat. but everyone was so tired after school, it was a pretty slow match. this morning, after a good night sleep, they played at 9:15. ian did AWESOME. he scored 4 goals and his kicks were on and strong and he played really good defense. the last game was at 2:30. and everyone on the dragon team looked like they were asleep. they would kick the ball when it came to them and just stand there. so not like 5 year old boys. i think we found their breaking point. but it's been a fun season and i think ian really enjoyed it and made some friends along the way.
well, tonight was going smashingly after dean left for work, and then, whamo. the shriek that woke the world. poor sarah was trying to get some water with a ridiculously heavy glass cup (one of those shrek ones from mcdonalds) and it slipped out of her hand and fell on her big toe. wow. it's like it squeezed the blood right out the tip. her toenail is all bruised (now we have matching toes) and bleeding. she was not happy about it. and now, she feels like abby is her arch enemy. anytime she comes within 3 feet, sarah starts screaming that she's going to touch her toe!!! help!!! oh, the drama. everything is so much nicer when dean's on days. grrrr.
well, the pictures aren't in any particular order. i haven't figured out how to do it on this computer. but i'm sure sarah and my mom will understand. thanks, ladies. i'm not even going to say sorry that i never post any more. with dean on nights, if i have any time for posting, i'm taking a nap with him. it's almost midnight and i should probably put ian and sarah down for bed. good night.

"his kicks were on and strong"
That's my favorite quote from the whole post. I can't believe you've "updated!" I just wish you would've called the title that. rats. you win some, you lose some.
At first I thought the jalapenos were a pan of brownies and I thought, mmmm, that looks GOOD. At closer glance, I realized just what it was. Don't forget to bring some yummies when you come!!
SO SORRY for sweet Sarah. Poor girl. And Abby. Getting the cold foot from Sarah. how sad.
Have fun with your sweet friend tomorrow!! She's a good one, for sure:)
I'll give you a call sometime. if it's convenient for me, that is. GOOD night!
