sorry it's been so long

it's sure been a long time since i've blogged. the visit to brownwood sure did put a damper on my posting abilities. i was way too wrapped up in beating my dad in the fartlek. sorry i couldn't chicken out on you dad. it's not in my nature to let you win just b/c you're older than me with asthma and sleep apnea (sp?) and whatever other excuse you can make. thanks for the fun times and a great workout.

we were also able to go see my friend kelli and her son riley. it was so good to see them. what a cutie. sorry about the picture kelli. my mom put it on here and i'm sure it won't be your favorite but maybe she can email you some more.

i hope you guys love my "queen mommy" hair. ian and sarah love to make me queen mommy and dress me up to make me look pretty. the only downfall: they don't unsnap the clips before pulling them out. ouch. but i must say that it looks beautiful and i'm always honored to be queen mommy.

well, tonight i was astonished at my daughter. i don't think this is a good story but like my sister always says, you can never say that your child will never do something: you can say that they won't do it and get away with it. so sarah wanted her gummy bears and i told her she had to eat her dinner first. she didn't want to so she said, "mommy, you look fat." ouch. it took me a second to determine if i got so upset b/c that is an insecure aspect of my life, but i quickly came to the decision that nope. that was just plain aweful and dean very firmly took care of the situation. dear sarah came back to me with lots of tears in her eyes and gave me a big hug and said that she was sorry. boy, having kids is always an adventure.

yesterday, dean and i went to ikea and purchased an armoire (rural juror armoire- i think that would be an awesome name for a movie. for those of you who watch 30 rock, you'd know that the blonde lady was in a movie named The Rural Juror and for a year or so, nobody knew the name of the movie. just try saying it out loud. those three words are some of the hardest english words to say.), a dresser for ian and sarah and abby, and a bedside table for dean and i, who are currently using a fold-up barstool. boy does that ikea stuff take a long time to put it together. the (rural juror) armoire took us no less than 3 1/2 hours and the two dressers took me all morning. wow. but i'm super excited about it all. organization is priceless.

well, i'm really happy to be done with the "sarah sent me a virus thing." dean is ready for bed so i'll go for now. the next post will not be as spaced out as the last few. before i go, i'd like to say that the cold weather did the blog world a world of good. you guys were awesome with your blogging and i enjoyed the many updates immensely. it snowed for about four or five hours here so i guess snow really brings out the bloggers. fun stuff. good bye now.
